Methods of treating acute diarrhea at home

Do you have diarrhea? Do not worry you are not alone! Most people suffer from diarrhea, an average of once or twice a year. You can treat diarrhea and relieve its symptoms in home-based ways.

The term diarrhea is used to denote the result of the watery and stagnant bowel function. There are two types of diarrhea: acute diarrhea and chronic diarrhea.

People get diarrhea due to several reasons and things we do every day, such as eating fruits and vegetables without washing them or when the intestines encounter problems in digesting some foods or even because of an allergic reaction to certain types of food!

Continuous and continuous diarrhea leads to the loss of large amounts of fluid in the body, which can lead to dehydration if the fluid is not compensated for.

    Treatment of diarrhea at home

To reduce the symptoms of diarrhea by household methods, follow these steps:

    • Drink six cups of liquids, each with a capacity of 250 milliliters, a day, at least, to compensate lost fluids and avoid dehydration.
    • Drink juice that does not contain fruit pulp, meat sauce, soft drinks, chicken soup (without fat), tea with honey, in order to avoid dehydration and compensate fluids and minerals lost due to diarrhea.
    • Drink regular amounts of fluid daily.
    • Eat soft foods such as bananas, to calm the intestines and not to increase their consumption.
    • Eat yogurt in order to eliminate bad bacteria in the intestines.
    • Ginger: By adding a small piece of ginger to a teaspoon of honey and eating it, but avoid drinking water immediately afterwards. Or by adding a small piece of ginger to tea, because it works to calm the intestines and intestinal cramps.
    • Rice: It is a carbohydrate that acts to calm the stomach and intestines.
    • Carrots: Carrots are a rich source of pectin, which helps relieve symptoms of diarrhea.
    • Apple cider vinegar: It works to eliminate the bad bacteria in the intestines, and it is rich in pectin, which reduces the symptoms of diarrhea.
    • If diarrhea persists with the same intensity after the third or fourth day, we recommend that you consult your doctor. Diarrhea may be a sign of the presence of another disease. We wish you a speedy recovery.
