Book Review
This book illustrates which non-verbal clues telegraph mistrust and deception and which radiate sincerity and compassion. In this fascinating take on body language and the ability to decipher it for use in everyday life, Navarro emphasizes that while knowing the reasons for certain behaviors, such as neck touching, can be helpful in "reading" people, they are not barometers. infallible deception. A former FBI agent who commonly used these techniques to help solve cases, the author cautions against jumping to conclusions and encourages the use of non-verbal pattern clusters to help discover whether a person is lying or simply under stress. One chapter is devoted to the brain and its limbic system, which controls these involuntary peculiarities of behavior. The black and white photographs illustrate different points throughout. This book is a valuable research tool and a good addition to larger collections.
