FAQ
Q: Where is the left-handed mode?
Enable the “Left-handed (Inverted)” option and set the rotation to 0 degrees.
Q: Why is the cursor shaking?
A small amount of shaking is to be expected with this driver, even when the pen is stationary.
Every graphics tablet does have some amount of noise in the pen position signal. Shaking will get worse when you lift the pen higher. Some tablets might have more noise than others, even if the tablet model is the same.
You can enable the noise filter to reduce the amount of shaking.
Q: What does the smoothing filter do?
The smoothing filter calculates the average cursor position.
The filter latency value is an approximation of how much time it will take the cursor to reach the current pen position.
Higher latency will smooth out the cursor movement but limits how fast the cursor can change the position.
Filter latency values between 15 and 25 milliseconds should be close to some Wacom drivers.
The default rate for the smoothing calculation is 250 Hz, so it should show 250 packets/sec in the OSU! raw input settings.
It is possible to set the rate to 1000 Hz, but lower-end computers might have problems with the higher update rates.
Q: Driver Stopped, Restarting! Tablet not found! Init failed!
Check the GitHub issues #1 and #35
Q: I’ve installed the VMulti driver, but I get an error: “Can’t open VMulti device”
VMulti driver is from the XP-Pen’s installation package so you could try this:
Run remove_vmulti_driver.bat to uninstall the VMulti driver
Install: https://www.xp-pen.com/upload/download/20181019/osuWin(20181019).zip
Kill processes PentabletService.exe and PenTablet.exe with the Windows Task Manager
Remove PentabletService.exe and PenTablet.exe from the Pentablet folder (C:\Program Files\Pentablet)
Q: Why my cursor doesn’t reach the edges of the screen?
You might have incorrect screen mapping settings.
If you are sure that settings are correct, you should check this: https://github.com/hawku/TabletDriver/issues/4
If the problem only occurs in osu!, then disable the “Map absolute raw input to osu! window” from the osu’s settings.
Q: I have read this FAQ, but i still have a problem with the driver!
You can report the driver issues here: https://github.com/hawku/TabletDriver/issues
Do you have a Hawku controller for your tablet so you can play Osu but it doesn’t work as expected? Do not worry. After reading this post, you will learn how to fix the Hawku drivers problem easily and quickly.
Try These Fixes:
Here are 2 simple methods for you to fix the Hawku tablet driver not working problem. You don’t need to try all of them; just keep moving up the list until you find the one that does the trick.
- Reinstall the Hawku driver
- Use other tablet drivers
To properly use the Hawku tablet driver, make sure you have uninstalled all other tablet drivers.
Solution 1: Reinstall The Hawku Drivers
If your Hawku driver is not working properly, there may be something wrong with your old installation. And the easiest solution is to reinstall the driver.
There are mainly two ways to reinstall the Hawku driver:
Option 1: Automatically (Recommended) – This is the fastest and easiest option. It’s all done with just a couple of mouse clicks, easy even if you’re a computer novice.
Option 2: Manually: You will need some computer skills and patience to reinstall/update your drivers this way because you need to download the correct driver online and install it step by step.
Option 1: Automatically update the Hawku tablet driver
If you don’t have the time, patience, or computer skills to reinstall your Hawku tablet driver manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy.
Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake while installing.
You can update your drivers automatically with the FREE or Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it only takes 2 clicks:
- Download and install Driver Easy.
- Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any driver issues.
- Click the Update button next to the marked graphics tablet device driver to automatically download the correct version of that driver, then you can install it manually (you can do this with the FREE version).
Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all missing or outdated drivers on your system. (This requires the Pro version that comes with full support and a 30-day money-back guarantee. You will be prompted to update when you click Update All.)
- Restart your PC to use the changes and then all your device drivers should be up and running.
Option 2 – Reinstall the Hawku driver manually
If you prefer to do the driver reinstall on your own, simply follow the steps below:
- Open TabletDriverGUI.
- Uncheck both Auto Restart and Run at Windows startup, and click Save Settings.
- Run remove_vmulti_driver. (Huion or Gaomon users should go to the driver_huion folder and launch Remove_Huion_64.)
- Once completed, delete the folder.
- Download Hawku driver and extract the file.
- Open the folder and run the install_vmulti_driver file. If you’re using a Huion or Gaomon tablet, go to the driver_huion folder and run Install_Huion_64.
- Press Enter to complete the process.
Now test the issue. If it persists, check out the second fix below.
