Pesterchum is an instant messaging client that copies the appearance of clients from Andrew Hussie’s webcomic Homestuck.
The latest official version of the program is 3.41, and after the original developer dropped support in 2021, the fan community picked it up and started hosting fan servers. The largest one that this page refers to is Pesterchum.xyz, with executables in version 2.0.

Pesterchum Rules
Pesterchum used to have an official server with its own rules, but as of 2021, that is no longer the case. However, I think they are good rules to follow regardless, and the fan server administrators can ban you if you don’t follow them.

Frequent questions
Q: The server cannot be found (error 10060)
A: Starting in 2021, the first Pesterchum server went down. You have two options: replace irc.mindfang.org in the configuration files with the URL of the new server (pesterchum.xyz) or download the new versions of the programs that allow you to select new fan servers, which will be your only option for Chumdroid the best option for Windows.
Q: Pesterchum won’t open!
A: Post in the official thread and someone will help you.
Q: When I run Pesterchum it starts to load, but then it quits and nothing happens!
A: Make sure your default profile is in the profiles directory (go to your local application directory – you can get there by typing% LOCALAPPDATA% in the file explorer’s address bar). If not, check your pesterchum backup directory. If it is not there, you will have to go to the pesterchum.js file and delete your profile as the default.
Q: How do I change my themes?
A: “Options” in the “Customer” menu.
Q: When a toast comes up, it interrupts what I’m writing or doing and it’s really annoying.
A: Unfortunately, this is a known bug. You can disable notifications in the “Options” menu under “Clients” if this really bothers you.
Q: I keep getting the error message “The application has not started because the application settings are incorrect.”
A: Try downloading and installing Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 and 2008 SP1.
Q: I opened the PC, closed it and now it says my username is taken!
A: The “X” does not close the program, it only minimizes it to the system tray. To exit the program you must go to Client -> Exit.
