Fable II is an open-world action video game in the Fable game series developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. It is the sequel to Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters and was released in October 2008. A compilation of the game and its two downloadable content packs was released on October 24, 2009, titled the “Game of the Year” edition. Fable II received critical acclaim, citing its adherence to the original and praising the changes that redefined the game system.
The game takes place in the fictional land of Albion, five hundred years after the original Fable setting, in a colonial era that resembles the time of the bandits or the Enlightenment. Weapons are still primitive and great castles and cities have developed instead of towns. Unlike the original, the player can choose to be male or female.
