About the Author Roger Priddy’s
Roger Priddy’s passion for educating children through fun, informative, and interesting books has led him to create some of the most enduring and successful non-fiction early learning books in the publishing house. Roger lives in London and has three children, who have been the inspiration behind many of his best editorial ideas.
Roger Priddy is the creator of more than two hundred best-selling books for young children, including Wipe Clean ABC, First 100 Words, and Fuzzy Bee.
When I was in school I could not decide between being a pastry chef or going to art school. Following the advice of his father, he chose art school and trained as an illustrator before becoming a designer at Usborne Publishing.
Roger’s love of children’s early learning has led him to create some of the most successful non-fiction books for children, first at Dorling Kindersley (My First Word Book, Incredible Cross-Sections, and My First Cook Book) before setting up Priddy Books with St. Martins Press in New York, where several of his books have sold more than a million copies each, including First 100 Words, My Big Animal Book and Happy Baby Words.
In total, he has sold over 65 million books worldwide and his books have been translated into more than 30 languages.
He says: “It is always gratifying to see a child enjoying and learning something from one of our books, especially babies when you think it might be the first book they have ever seen.
I am very fortunate to have a career in which you can think of fun ways to teach a child how to write his letters and learn his first words while discovering the dinosaurs at the same time. “
Roger lives in London and has three children, who have given him most of his best ideas for his books.
