Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a fantasy novel written by British author J. K. Rowling, and it is the seventh and final novel in the Harry Potter series. It was released on July 21, 2007, in the United Kingdom by Bloomsbury Publishing, in the United States by Scholastic, and in Canada by Raincoast Books. The novel chronicles the events that directly followed Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005) and the final confrontation between the wizard Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.
Deathly Hallows broke sales records at launch, beating the marks set by previous titles in the Harry Potter series. It holds the Guinness World Record for most novels sold within 24 hours of launch, with 8.3 million sold in the US and 2.65 million in the UK. Generally well-received by critics, the book won the 2008 Colorado Blue Spruce Book Award and was named the “Best Book for Young Adults” by the American Library Association. A two-part film adaptation of the novel was released: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 in November 2010 and Part 2 in July 2011.

The brilliant and impressive conclusion of J.K. Rowling’s fascinating series is not for the faint of heart: such revelations, battles, and betrayals await in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that no fan will emerge unscathed until the end. Fortunately, Rowling has prepared loyal readers for the end of her series by telling them increasingly dark and dangerous stories of magic and mystery, packed with lessons about honor and contempt, love and loss, good and evil
Don’t fear, you won’t find any spoilers in our review: telling the plot would ruin the trip, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is an odyssey that Rowling fans haven’t seen yet and probably won’t forget. But we’d be remiss if she didn’t offer a little suggestion before embarking on her final adventure with Harry: bring plenty of tissues.
The heart of Book 7 is a hero’s quest, not only in Harry’s quest for the Horcruxes, but in his journey from boy to man, and Harry faces more danger than is found in all six books combined. from the direct threat of Death Eaters and you-know-who to the subtle dangers of losing faith in yourself. Attentive readers would do well to remember Dumbledore’s warning about choosing between “what is right and what is easy,” and know that Rowling applies the same difficult principle to the end of her series. While fans will find the answers to highly speculated questions about Dumbledore, Snape, and you-know-who, it’s a testament to Rowling’s skill as a storyteller that even the most astute and careful reader will be surprised.
A spectacular end to a phenomenal series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a bittersweet read for fans. The journey is hard, filled with tragic and triumphant events, the battlefield littered with the bodies of the most loved and despised, but the final chapter is as bright and blinding as the flame of a phoenix, and fans and skeptics alike They will emerge from the confines of history with full but heavy hearts, giddy and grateful for the experience.
It ends too expository and convenient, but the story is compelling, and its new setup is a nice break from the formula.
