Oh Crap! Potty Training: Everything Modern Parents Need to Know to Do It Once and Do It Right Book By Jamie Glowacki – Potty expert, Pied Piper, and author of the popular guidebook, Oh Crap! Potty Training – Share your proven 6-step plan to help you potty train your preschooler quickly and successfully.

Let potty expert and popular “Pied Piper” Jamie Glowacki show you how. Their proven 6-step process of getting your child out of diapers and into the bathroom has already worked for tens of thousands of children and their parents. Here’s the good news: Your child is probably potty-ready EARLIER than you think (ideally 20-30 months), and it can be done FASTER than expected (most children learn the basics in a few days, but Jamie has you covered even if it takes a little longer). If you’ve ever said to yourself:
** How do I know if my child is ready?
** Why isn’t my child pooping on the potty?
** How do I avoid “potty struggles”?
** How can I get your daycare provider on board?
** My son was so fine, why is he backing off?
** And what about the night?
Oh shit! Potty training can solve all of these (and other) common problems. This is not a theory, you are not bribing with candy and there are no tricks. Here’s the real-world information, from the trenches, on potty training – all the questions and all the ANSWERS you need to do it once and end diapers forever.

Oh Crap! Potty Training Summary

The “Oh Crap” potty training approach is designed to teach children to recognize their own body’s cues and take action (i.e., go to the bathroom and sit on it). It is not a quick-fix method, so it may take longer than other training methods, but the end result is worth it. What you will get is a child who will be able to tell you when he needs to pee, as opposed to a child who will pee when you tell him to. This promotes greater independence in the long term.

The method consists of a series of “blocks” through which your child progresses. Blockings are not done at a certain age or for a certain period of time. You start when you feel it’s time to potty train and stay in each block for as long as necessary.

In Block 1, your child is completely naked, which means you have to stay home with him all day. During this stage, you should monitor him closely and be alert for any body signals that indicate he needs to use the potty. When you see one, take it to the potty.

In Block 2, the child can be dressed but still without underwear and take very short outings. In Block 3 the outings are longer and in Block 4 they can start wearing underwear.
